Technics Confirms SL-1210GAE Limited Edition Turntable Production Run - a Global Edition of 1210 Units
An extra 210 units of the special edition all-black SL-1210GAE will be available globally.
Wiesbaden, Germany / 28th July 2020 – Technics has been delivering epoch-defining Hi-Fi equipment; including speakers, amplifiers, and audio players – including its iconic turntables - worldwide since 1965.
This year, Technics releases the SL-1210GAE Limited Edition turntable to commemorate its 55th anniversary. This special model is based on the acclaimed SL-1200G hi-fi turntable, and features a desirable all-black colour scheme.
Since announcing the special edition in early June, the SL-1210GAE sold out almost immediately – leaving Technics with an interesting challenge:

The SL-1210GAE’s 10mm thick aluminum top panel has a beautiful anodized black brushed finish. The operation buttons and tonearm share a high quality black finish – creating a uniform, premium appearance.

Nagaoka, the highly respected turntable cartridge manufacturer with 80 years of heritage, collaborated with Technics engineers to produce the JT-1210 cartridge. The moving magnet cartridge is exclusive to this limited run of Technics SL-1210GAE and has been tuned specifically for the turntable.
