SL-40C
Direct Drive Turntable System
Inheriting Technics’ proven coreless direct drive system, SL-40C is refined for modern living—with a compact body and warm wood finishes.

Features
Optimised for Instant Vinyl Playback
With the included cartridge and built-in phono amplifier precisely matched for optimal performance, simply connect to active speakers or an amplifier and passive speakers—and confidently enjoy vinyl playback immediately.
Driven by the Technics Legacy
For decades, Technics’ direct drive has delivered accurate, maintenance-free rotation. This mechanism, which directly spins the platter with strong torque, has evolved to offer even greater precision with a coreless motor that eliminates cogging.
Engineered Precision
While minimising the tonearm base size, the design inherits the traditional S-shape and ensures high tracking performance via micron-level precision engineering.

The included Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge features a conical stylus that delivers clear sound. With the built-in phono EQ, it ensures optimal performance.

Rigid rotation and precise torque control are achieved by a 1.26kg die-cast aluminum platter with reinforced ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet.

Excellent vibration resistance and reduced howling are achieved by newly tuned insulators. It’s rubber hardness is optimised to shift resonance outside the audible range.

Intelligence Behind the Spin
Digital control elevates rotation accuracy to the highest level through (1)precise speed detection, (2)Per-unit calibration during production, and (3)digitally optimised motor drive signals.

Separate PCBs for power, motor control, and phono EQ are placed away from the tonearm with crossover-free wiring. This minimises sound distortion.

The built-in MM phono equalizer, optimally tuned to the included cartridge, along with the premium components and case, delivers clear sound with minimal noise.

Cardboard Cushioning and Packaging Materials
The SL-40C uses cardboard cushioning and packaging materials by replacing styrene foam cushioning with cardboard to reduce marine plastic waste.
