Coreless Direct Drive Motor for Stable Rotation
Retaining the outstanding performance of the SL-1200MK7, the direct drive system uses a slow-turning motor to directly drive the platter, offering high performance, accuracy, and powerful torque without needing part replacements. While traditional direct drive systems had issues with rotation irregularity (cogging), the SL-1200M7GL/M7G features a new coreless direct drive motor that eliminates this problem. The motor’s improved magnetic force and optimized gap between the stator and rotor ensure smooth rotation and high torque, matching the performance of the SL-1200MK5. This results in accurate and faithful sound reproduction from your records.
Engineered Precision
The tonearm features a static-balance S-shape design and high-precision bearings for accurate groove tracking and minimal stylus jumping during scratching.

Digital pitch control fine-tunes speed within ±8%/±16%, using all-digital slider-to-motor control to avoid DA conversion for stable, accurate tracking.

An aluminium die-cast platter, rib-reinforced underneath, combines with deadening rubber in a two-layer structure to suppress unwanted resonance.
*The platter has the same construction as the SL-1200MK7 shown here.

High-end-inspired chassis reduces vibration for pristine sound. Aluminium die-cast, ABS and glass fibre form a robust two-layer structure with enhanced damping.

Spring-and-rubber insulators optimize frequency response for high sound quality and howling resistance, blocking vibration even at high volumes for clear audio.

Detachable power and phono terminals ease maintenance and transport. Gold-plated phono terminals resist corrosion for stable sound and easy cable upgrades.
78 rpm Speed
You can switch between 33-1/3 rpm, 45 rpm, and even 78 rpm speeds.
