Technics took every possible approach to improve the audio quality of the RS-B900. The tape transport mechanism employed a closed-loop dual-capstan system. It maintained the head touch at constant tension, thus reducing wow and flutter and noise. The high-torque D.D. motor driven by a digital servo system ensured high rotation accuracy and stable transport performance. The recording amp featured Technics' original discrete magnetic field Class AA. The playback system utilised a phase correction circuit. The internal structure with the T.N.R.C. base provided superb vibration dampening characteristics, and the top plate with anti-vibration measures reduced the effects of external vibration and vibration of internal mechanisms.
